To apply for a property tax exemption as a hospital or a religious, charitable or educational organization please print and complete the Application for Exemption  and submit it to the Assessor’s Office with all of the required documentation requested in the application by June 15th.  If the property is being leased by a hospital or religious, charitable or educational organization; written permission from the property owner MUST be included with your application allowing the lessee to seek the property tax exemption.

If you own low-income housing units pursuant to NRS 361.082 and NAC 361.089 please print and complete the Application for Tax Exemption-Low Income Housing.pdf and submit it to the Assessor's Office with all of the required documentation requested in the application by June 15th.

The application process must be completed and an opinion must be issued by the Carson City Assessor's Office before your real and/or personal property can be exempted by the Assessor’s Office. Carson City Assessor's Office will issue an opinion and the Assessor’s Office will notify you of the results.

• The filing deadline for real property exemption is June 15 for the following fiscal year beginning July 1.
• The filing deadline for personal property exemption is no later than July 31 for the current fiscal year, or within 15 days for a Statement of Business Equipment / Assets / Personal Property mailed to you after July 15.
